Background
Maeve were appointed by Collins to deliver a comprehensive internal works package at the new state-of-the-art Prenuvo MRI scanning facility located on Great Portland Street, London. The project comprised approximately 5,000 sq ft arranged over two levels and involved the delivery of high-spec internal finishes within a constrained city-centre site, requiring close coordination with multiple specialist subcontractors to meet the technical, acoustic, and fire performance requirements expected of a modern medical imaging clinic.
Scope of works
Drylining and builders’ works
Supply and installation of drywall partitions and ceilings, including fire‑rated and acoustic wall systems, suspended grid ceilings, and associated builders’ works to facilitate and coordinate mechanical and electrical services.
Fire doors and ironmongery
Supply and installation of fully compliant fire‑rated door sets and ironmongery, meeting all relevant fire safety, acoustic, and performance requirements appropriate for a medical imaging environment.
Interior finishes and flooring
Delivery of high‑quality internal finishes, including luxury vinyl flooring, carpet, specialist polished concrete finishes, and the installation of precast polished concrete steps.
Challenges
Restricted site and multiple trades
The project was delivered within a compact site footprint, with numerous subcontractors operating concurrently to achieve the programme.
Solutions
A strong emphasis on communication and proactive planning was implemented from the outset, with regular coordination meetings and detailed forward planning to sequence works efficiently, minimise trade clashes, and maintain productivity.
Results
The project was completed within the agreed programme, delivering a state‑of‑the‑art MRI imaging facility that satisfies stringent technical performance, fire safety, and acoustic criteria.
