Background

The aim of the project was to fully refurbish the entire cinema, with new tiered seating in every screen, state of the art projection and sound equipment, new seating, and a redesigned consumer friendly foyer and entrance area.

Challenges

The proposed relocation of the toilets had to be amended to avoid breaking into the structural sub floors, and we came up with a new proposal which incorporated putting the new toilets under the tiered seating and using the height differences in the slabs to run above ground drainage beneath raised floors.

Cineworld in Brighton has reopened after undergoing a full refurbishment in time for welcoming back customers.
Keen movie-goers are in for a treat as the cinema at Brighton Marina now has a new ‘Screen X’ auditorium.

The cinema says the 270-degree screen really immerses viewers in the action on screen to give them the best experience for the film they are watching.

Karen Phillips, General Manager of Cineworld Brighton said:

“We are looking forward to welcoming back cinema-goers to our better than ever, newly refurbished cinema and we are delighted to be adding a Screen X to our existing offering.

“With this new addition, we can offer the local community the opportunity to experience film like never before.’’

The new refurbishment also sees a brand-new Starbucks, new seats in each screen, state-of-the-art updates to the foyer and concessions stands where customers can purchase a selection of their favourite movie snacks.
